I was very pleasantly surprised to discover that non mobile enabled books like the Jerome Biblical Commentary and the Oxford Bible Commentary are accessible through the WEB APP. Which most likely will never be available to the web app.
Note: This software has components that pastors and teachers may benefit from, but any layman like me who wants to understand the Bible will get plenty out of its features, too.One consideration is do you use personal books. Oh, and it has access to multiple translations, including the New American Standard, which is regarded as among the most accurate. If there was ever a version of the Bible that logical-minded readers could get into, it's this one. However, what makes Logos a great tool, not just a great digitization of a sacred text, is that it comes with searchable glossaries, historical accounts, contextual stories or events, connections to other instances in the Bible where that information cross-references, tables, language glossaries (from the original language), and more. This is handy for anyone who wants to read when they're away from home.
Pros: (Referring to the Logos Bible app only-I'm not a pastor or teacher, so I don't use the full suite of products.) For starters, Logos Bible Software puts the Bible in electronic format and allows the user to access it from his or her phone, tablet, or computer.
And it's easy for anybody who's not even tech savvy to experience and enjoy the benefits of Logos Bible Software.įor any advice for anybody considering Logos Bible Software, I would encourage you to not just get it for yourself, but maybe you have a staff at church or volunteers at your church in leadership positions, I would encourage you to get a license for every single one of them so they could fully experience the Logos Bible Software and all of that it has to offer. And it was easy like that, and I was able to just able to experience the benefits of Logos Bible Software the same day after I downloaded the software on computer. And all I had to do was sign up and put in my credit information, my payment information, and download the software. Logos Bible Software has excellent customer service also. And as a pastor, I was able to spend more time with my sheep and shepherding them, and it was just a huge blessing to us in numerous ways, and I would say that was the main purpose. And I save tons of time using Logos Bible Software and the ease of access to it, and just the numerous resources were a huge blessing to me who doesn't have a lot of time, extra time to do that. So it was just a big time saving thing for us. We use Proclaim Worship Software and with Logos Bible Software you could just easily export whatever you have in Logos Bible Software as you're working with the sermon to make slides in Proclaim Worship Software. I chose Logos Bible Software for so many different reasons, but the main reason was because it's just easy to access and they have numerous resources, and it integrates with the worship planning software that our church uses.
So it was just a lot more easier to do, plus you save tons of time when you don't have to go to sources and you've got everything just right there in the same program. And it just wasn't working very well for me, and with Logos Bible Software, you have everything in the same place.
